Jianjun Yin, a scientist at Florida State University, predicts that the Northeastern coast of the US will experience the fastest and largest sea level rises this century. As the North Atlantic warms, the ocean current there may slow down, affecting the sea level rise along the US East Coast. However, there are many factors involved in sea level rise, such as ocean circulation, land ice melt, prevailing winds, thermal expansion of water, and melting glaciers. This means that making predictions is very difficult.
