The Titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean about halfway through its trans-Atlantic journey from Southampton, England to New York. It struck a massive iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912 and took about three hours to sink. The link below shows a map of the Titanic’s location.
Specifically, the Titanic sank 1000 miles due east of Boston, Massachusetts and 375 miles southeast of St. John’s, Newfoundland, approximately 3,925 meters deep. It sunk about 13 miles southeast of the location of its last distress call. The ship was finally discovered in 1985
