Which is more energy efficient, beer brewing or winemaking?

It seems as though beer brewing is more energy efficient…or at least, more concrete evidence of energy-saving techniques in breweries exists.  Central Waters Brewery in Wisconsin recently doubled productivity by installing a solar water heater.  Additionally, it costs about 3-8% of the cost of production for fuel uses in beer breweries.  However, that’s not to say that wineries aren’t considering the same concerns.  Many California wineries have taken into consideration energy costs (especially in the context of the state) and are working to become more and more energy efficient.
