There aren’t many reports on the least eco-criendly products, however, I was able to find a handful of tips on making your windows better. These include; having draft stoppers, installing low E windows, using adhesive window films and installing double pane windows.
So, the opposite of this would include single pane windows without low E glass or films that are drafty.
Any window that has visible gaps around it, windows that do not shut properly, windows with rotting wood and damaged seals should be replaced.
Aluninum window frames can be too hot in summer and too sold in winter and nowhere near being energy efficient. The aluminum can get so cold that it can crack the glass.
