Hurricane Katrine is not only hands down the most destructive hurricane to hit the U.S. but is arguably one of the worst natural disasters in the country’s history as well. Causing $80 billion dollars in damages and killing over 1,800 people. Though a dollar amount was never put on it the Bhola Cyclone of 1970 which hit India and Bangladesh killing around 400,000 people, easily ranks as the deadliest in recorded history.
