In addition to the list cmgrannu gracious gave, there are many other famous Hollywood stars who are huge environmental activists. One who I think stands out is Edward Norton. In July of 2010 Norton became a “United Nations goodwill ambassador for biodiversity”. He is trying to bring awareness of biodiversity to people’s attention and is quoted saying “events like the oil spill can help people at least have a clearer understanding of the way biodiversity connects to our daily lives…It’s Unfortunate but true that sometimes negative consequences can drive change”. Norton is also the president of the U.S. branch for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. Through this organization he attempts to protect the 2 million acres of land in the Chyulu hills of southern Kenya.
