Diesel poses a greater threat to the environment than gasoline. The reason for this is that it releases more oxides of nitrogen than gasoline. Smog is mostly made up of these oxides. Diesel also produced much more pother than gasoline when it is burned, which is why it smells so strongly and has a black tint to it. So, while diesel cars have been praised for their fuel efficiency compared to gasoline run cars, in the long terms both gasoline and diesel have their good and bad points, the most troubling bad point being that they are both damaging the environment. Bio fuels are a much more efficient and clean fuel to run our cars off of, which is why companies should be encouraged to focus their efforts on green cars instead of gasoline or diesel ones.
