While California is the leading state in solar power, many eastern states are starting to jump start solar power energy in their states.
Connecticut’s Renewable portfolio standard requires the state to produce 27% of their electricity by renewable sources by 2020. To achieve this they have offered incentives for solar power to encourage residents to buy and use solar power.
Maryland has also increased incentives to encourage solar power usage.
Massachusetts has set aside $68 million to offset the cost of PV systems.
New Jersey leads the east coast with more solar capacity than any state, except California.
