Hurricane Ida hit crops particularly hard in Central America. In El Salvador, the crops most affected were beans, corn and rice, with damages totaling about $25.5 million. In Nicaragua, the same crops as well as the entire pineapple crop were also destroyed. It was reported that the only trees left standing were pine trees.
