Every country will face significant economic troubles as the planet warms but countries that have the a good portion of their population living below sea level (i.e. Bangladesh) will be hardest hit. As sea levels rise, people living on the coast will be forced to migrate, either internally or externally. The economy will be hit if people migrate externally due to a loss of labor. Those forced to migrate internally will migrate to areas that do not have the capacity to employ them, hence a high unemployment rate resulting in even higher rates of poverty. Countries may also face epidemics of water-borne diseases that could require large-scale government-run medical interventions costing nations millions or billions of dollars.
