According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), North America has the highest consumption of wood per capita (700kg of wood consumed per capita). Next in line is Oceana (just under 550kg of wood per capita), South America & Africa & Central America/Caribbean (around 450kg of wood per capita), Europe (400kg of wood per capita),  Southeast Asia (300kg of wood per capita), South Asia and East Asia (200kg of wood per capita), Western Asia (just under 100kg of wood per capita), and Central Asia (50kg of wood per capita).  We can see from these numbers that North American countries use significantly more than everyone else.
