Which country is responsible for causing the most species to become extinct?

    I do not think any specific country can be blamed for causing the most extinctions. One of the biggest causes of extinction is the often accidental introduction of exotic species, especially rats on islands.

    Spread of exotic diseases is also a major contributing factor, such as the chytrid fungus that is contributing to the decimation of amphibian species, particularly frogs.

    And of course alteration of habitat, such as the creation of dams and clear cutting of forest etc.

    But I do not think we can point at a single nation as having done the most damage, I do not believe we have sufficient data to do so.
