I believe that Denmark continues to produce the most power from wind – approximately 20% of stationary electricity production. There are 80 countries around the world now using wind power on a commercial basis.
Denmark has the highest percentage of wind power usage, with 1/5 of all their electricity generated from wind towers, but the United States and China are the leaders when it comes to capacity and production.
China had the highest actual wind energy production in 2010, adding 46% of international capacity. The single largest wind farm is located off the coast of the UK. Also of note, according to the Global Wind Energy Council, “more than half of all new wind power was added outside of the traditional markets in Europe and North America.”
