Ecuador has the most endangered species (plants and animals): 2,211. Over 40 of these are mammals, more than 70 are birds, 170 are amphibians, around 15 are fish, and 50 are mollusks. They also have more than 1,500 endangered plant species, which is more than twice the amount of other countries. The U.S. comes in second place, with 1,203 species of plants and animals that are considered endangered.
