    Australia and New Zealand have the highest melanoma rate in the world. The ozone layer is weakest in this part of the world and cannot screen as much UV radiation. That factor combined with the mostly fair skinned citizens is the cause of the such high rates.

    Australia has the highest skin cancer rate in the world.  2 of every 3 Australians will develop skin cancer and roughly 1000 will die from skin cancer every year.  This is caused by common susceptible skin types and the country’s latitude. People who get freckles and have either blond or red hair are the most susceptible to skin cancer.
