Honduras is the country with the largest logging industry. In a period of 15 years (1990 — 2005) the country experienced a 37% decrease in their total forest cover. Originally Honduras was almost entirely covered by trees. As of 2009, only 52% of the country is still covered with that same amount of forestation.
Nigeria isn’t far behind Honduras and has experienced similar declines in its lush cover of trees. Also once completely covered in forest, now all but 10% of the country is covered. In the past 20 years, Nigeria has removed a little more than 35% of its total tree cover.
