Canada and the United States are the top two consumers in the world today. But the US has a slightly higher demand for oil as the country uses up approximately 17 million barrels per day. This demand is a result of the high dependency of the majority of the population on private vehicles.
Canada is not even close to being the #2 consumer of oil.
