Generally, many Western European and Scandinavian countries have made great strides towards improving their energy efficency. In fact, the “greenest” country in the world is Iceland. Iceland’s capital city, Rekyjavik, is 100% fueled by alternative energy, many due to the abundance of geothermal energy in Iceland. Overall, Iceland’s energy is 82% from alternative sources. Other nations worth noting include Norway, Costa Rica, and Switzerland.
