    More countries have active active space programs then you might imagine.  The long list includes Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Indonesia, Italy, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, and, likely, North Korea and Iraq.

    Wired Magazine published a list of countries with developing and active space programs that are on the periphery of public awareness, like Nigeria, Brazil and even Luxembourg.  Some have descriptions but there is also a list at the bottom of those not discussed: http://www.wired.com/science/space/magazine/16-06/st_spacerace
