I would think from an energy conservation standpoint, domestic would be better. Less fuel would be used to transport it from place to place, which would reduce carbon emissions. However, this doesn’t take into account how much energy is wasted or saved in the actual manufacture process — but from a purely fuel-based standpoint, domestic saves more fuel.
