There are many different effects that global warming and climate change have had on the United States (and the rest of North America).
In the past few decades, many areas of the United States have seen extreme heat waves, and have experienced record high temperatures. In Alaska, there has been a decrease in ice, and a retreat of glaciers.
There has also been decreased populations of certain animals, like caribou and sea birds, due to the climate change. The theory for the decline in sea birds is that with ice thawing, they have less places to land and rest while hunting at sea.
