There are several African countries that are doing very well in political and economic terms, yet unfortunately, some countries have taken steps backwards. Due to the revolution that saw President Hosni Mubarak overthrown in 2011, Egypt is politically unstable currently. Other countries could be deemed far more unstable are Chad, Somalia, and Sudan. All three countries are engaged in civil war and very unstable right now. Sudan’s Darfur region is one of the most hostile areas in recent years and most agree that a genocide is occurring. Botswana, on the other hand, is one of the most stable countries in Africa. They hold the record for the longest multi-party theocracy in all of Africa, and more importantly it seems to be working well.
