In 2001, Australia displaced the United States as Japan’s number one beef supplier. Australia filled its U.S. import quota in 2001, and is expected to do so again in 2002.
As of 2011, The United States passed Brazil and Australia to become the world’s top exporter of beef. United States beef exports are expected to exceed $5 billion in 2011.
