    Up to the end of 2009 was opened in Texas of that year, with 627 wind turbines over an area of 100 000 acres. This will generate enough power to supply 230 000 homes, with a maximum capacity of 781.5 MW. The project cost more than $1 billion.

    The largest offshore wind farm is in Denmark, called Horns Rev 2, using 91 turbines, with an output of 209 MW that supplies 200 000 homes. This was also put into operation in 2009.
