The world’s largest offshore wind farm recently opened in mid-September of 2010.  Located off southern England’s Kent coastal line, the wind farm is said to produce 50% more power than other similar wind farms in Europe.  The farm consists of 100 wind turbines, standing at 115 meters high.  The turbines will be able to supply enough energy for 200,000 homes a year.  Vattenfall, a Swediah company, will operate the farm as they have invested $1.38 billion.
