The world’s largest biodiesel facility is in Rotterdam. It can produce 800,000 tonnes of fuel per year. Neste Oil operates the plant which creates fuel from vegetable oil and waste animal fat. These products are obtained from the food industry. Neste claims that the fuel created at the plant reduces emissions by 40% – 80% compared to diesel created by fossil fuels. There is also another Neste Oil plant of similar size in Singapore.
