In a 24 hour period Silver Lake, Colorado was covered in 75.8 inches of snow (more than six feet). This mountain town near Denver began this record-setting snowstorm at 2:30 in the afternoon on April 14, 1921 and even though it holds the record for a 24 hour period, it was not even close to being done by the next day. After 32.5 hours the storm finally stopped leaving 95 inches of fresh snow. This is also the record for the most snow accumulation from a single snowstorm.
