Currently there are more than 1,300 charging stations nationwide.  Of course as more and more EV’s hit the road that number is expected to increase drastically.  President Obama is pushing for 1 million electric cars on th road by 2015.  More than 100 million is being spent to install more than 22,000 residential and public charging points nationwide by 2014.  Most vehicles will be charged at home, plans are in the works for “quick chargers” to be installed at various Arco and BP stations nationwide. NRG has planned the installation of “Freedom Stations” for NRG “eVgo” service in Dallas and Houston these will be available at Best Buys, Walgreens, and other retailers.
