I’m not sure which species of bird has the largest migration, but species in far northern regions–Canada, Scandinavia, etc.–tend to migrate more than those in temperate and tropical regions. Due to the extreme cold of winter in northern regions, and the relatively low body fat of most birds, almost all northern birds will migrate for the winter; about half of temperate-climate species will migrate; and fewer tropical-climate species will migrate.
