It is a hostel located in Toronto, Canada called the Planet Traveler. It far surpasses the LEED Platinum certification for green buildings by utilizing geothermal temperature controls, two types of solar power, water reclamation facilities, and LED lights in each room. A 4.5 kilowatt photovoltaic solar system provides part of the hostel’s electricity, while a 12-panel solar thermal system helps heat the hostel’s water. On a side note, all the LED lights in the hotel produce enough energy to power a four-slice toaster.
