The Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP) is the world’s largest landfill, and floats in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is divided into two sections, the Eastern and Western Pacific Garbage Patches. The EPGP located between California and Hawaii,  the WPGP is located west of Hawaii and east of Japan. It is the accumulation of decades of ocean pollution, from nations all over the world. Scientists do not know how deep it is, but estimate 7,000,000 tons of refuse make up the nebulous mass of garbage.
