Global warming is worst at the poles. In parts of Antarctica, temperatures have already been raised 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit. By 2012, there may be no more permanent ice at the North Pole over the summer. Antarctica’s ice melt has increased by 140 percent over the last decade because of higher temperatures.
