The energy from the Ross Island Wind Farm is providing 11% of the energy required by Scott Base, a research facility on Ross Island owned by New Zealand.  The wind farm is almost 1MW, cost $7.4 million and reduces 1,370 tons of carbon dioxide emissions from the base per year.
