Sea World has facilities used for breeding animals. Through the breeding program, more than 24,000 animals have been born in the parks. With government permits, Sea World also obtains animals from the wild and rescues sick, orphaned, or injured animals. The park says their main goal is to rehabilitate and eventually release sick animals, but some are so injured that it would be impossible for them to be released back into the wild. Sea World also gets animals from other zoological parks or private breeders.
