Where does the salt in the ocean come from?

    Salt comes from the land and from the rocks of the earth. Rocks are constantly eroding and the chlorine and sodium that makes up salt will eventually find its way to rivers. Rivers lead to the sea and deposit salt there. On average, the sea will have about 3.5% of salt amongst the water.
