99% of NYC’s water comes from the Catskills/Delaware System, a series of lakes and resevoirs in Upstate New York. 1% comes from the Croton System, which is based in Putnam, Westchester, and Dutchess counties. Less than 0.1% of the water comes from groundwater in Queens.
