Where does creativity stem from in the brain?

Your brain is split into two main parts: left and right. Each part tends to work differently. In general, the right side of the brain is more visually-oriented, focusing on images, overall relationships, and so on. It is usually stimulated by music and art, where the left part is stimulated by numbers, logic, and is verbally-oriented. As a result, creativity will come more naturally from the right side of the brain.

It comes from the right side of the brain, more specifically, the right side of the frontal lobe. The left side of the frontal lobe deals more with reasoning. Check the link to see what other areas of the brain take part in what actions.
