Wolverines live in remote regions of the boreal forests in Alaska, Canada, Nordic countries of Europe and Russia. They are quite rare in the continental United States.

Wolverines live in tundra type habitats from Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Russia, Alaska, Canada and the Western US. They are solitary, mobile creatures. This makes them very difficult to study. They are more commonly found in the northern range of their habitats due to human contact in their southern range.

Wolverines are clever like wolves, but are much more like weasels since they tend to be shy and like weasels, are scarcely seen.  They are found in the arctic mainland of Russia, Alaska, Canada, and Greenland.
