Limestone can be found in Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas. The stones derived from deposits in these states are used for homes and agricultural purposes.
Limestone exists in every state, although in a few such as Delaware it might be in the subsurface. On a commercial basis, 47 states produce limestone commercially. The leading limestone producing States in 2007 were, in descending order of tonnage, Texas, Missouri, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky.
