Vikings hail from the Nordic regions in Europe, such as Norway, Sweden, and those countries. They are known for their raid and pillage technique, and archeological evidence shows that the Vikings discovered the Americas a hundred years or so before Columbus.
Coincedently, the NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings, was named as such in by Bert Rose, the team’s first general manager, in 1961, because so many people in the area traced their heritage from Scandanavia. Scandavia is modern day Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
The archaeological evidence actually shows that the Vikings were in Newfoundland about 1000 a.d., 492 years before Columbus. There really weren’t any Vikings doing much a hundred years before Columbus.
