Where do most of the seeds for American agriculture come from?

Most seeds for the major American crops of corn and soybeans come from what are called ‘seed catalogs’ which list the attributed of each seed’s breed. The majority of crops are grown with seeds purchased from these catalogs from companies like Monsanto and Cargill, which control the majority of crops in the country. Organic and local seeds can also be purchased through seed catalogs, but the majority of US crops are produced by the seeds of large corporations.
