Where do grass seeds come from the plant?

If you let grass grow long enough, it will sprout seeds on the ends. Seeded grass can usually be found in lawns that have not been cut for a long time, hence the expression “letting something go to seed.” The seeds will grow in little clumps for most grass varieties, just like the seeds on a stalk of wheat.
