The myth of the werewolf originated at different times in different eras and locations of history. Greek mythology has mentionings of werewolfs. The God Zeus condemned a king to spend the rest of his life as a wolf as retaliation. The king was named Lyacon, and “Lyaconthrope” means “werewolf” in Greek. The myth started in England in the middle ages when a man who was into witchcraft and who made a pact with the devil confessed to killing 16 people, mostly children. After these killings had happened, people had attacked a wolf, which transformed into this man.
