    Camellia sinensis, the tea plant, is cultivated in various parts of the world, such as China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, and South America. It mainly grows in tropical and sub-tropical climates, but some varieties are grown in the United Kingdom and Seattle, Washington.
