Where are chlorofluorocarbons still legal?

CFC production is mostly banned under the Montreal Protocol, however, it is still legal for some developing countries to use CFCs for domestic appliances because it takes longer for those countries to transition to using products that don’t require CFCs. There is also an “essential use” exemption, which allows a very small amount of CFCs to be used for research and pharmaceutical purposes.
