According to genetics, the origin of the wheat we know today is in southeastern Turkey. About 10,000 years ago, in the Karacadag mountain region of Turkey, the most commonly used wheat was domesticated. Archaeological findings also report that evidence for domesticated wheat has been found in multiple spots in the Fertile Crescent.
