“Green” can refer to anything that is environmentally-friendly. The term comes from the GREENhouse gases that contribute to global warming. Sometimes “blue” is used today for phrases like “Think Blue” which is a program for clean water. But I don’t think people will switch to using “blue” to refer to similar things.
Part of the reason the term “green” is so commonly used is that companies realized that they could make money off of selling products that they claimed are green. This led to the term becoming mainstream. It seems unlikely that the same will happen for the term “blue,” but possibly a substitution will arise that will be commonly used.
