When were the first animals domesticated?

Dogs are thought to be the first animal to be domesticated, somewhere between 13,000 and 10,000 B.C. These dogs were actually wolf-like ancestors, and people probably adopted cubs or became friendly with more docile animals from the packs that lived near their camps. Between 13,000 and 2,500 B.C. cats, cattle, goats, horses, and sheep were also domesticated.
