When were Asian longhorned beetles introduced to the U.S.?

    1996 in Brooklyn.  In a mere 13 years, Asian Longhorn Beetles have decimated a number of American forests, doing particular harm to maples, hackberry, chestnut, poplar, willow, and plane tree populations.
