Actually, as of the year 2000, there are now 5 oceans. The International Hydrographic Organization defined the Southern Ocean, which surrounds Antarctica and extends to 60 degrees latitude.
The other four oceans were named at different times and boundaries changed over time. I have not been able to find specific dates, except that Magellan named the Pacific in 1519 and that the Atlantic Ocean was mentioned as early as 450BC, though I am sure the expanse wasn’t known and boundaries had not yet been established back then.
